About

Jerred Price:

Hello, I'm Jerred. You may know me from my various community involvements, such as serving as the Commissioner of Memphis City Beautiful or my work with the Downtown Neighborhood Association. Many of you may also recognize me through my music and my show "Almost Elton John." If we haven't met yet, I hope this website gives you a glimpse into who I am and my unwavering passion for creating a better Memphis.

As the quote above suggests, I live by the motto of "Be seen serving, don't serve to be seen." I firmly believe in doing all we can, for as many people as we can, for as long as we can. Memphis is brimming with opportunities, but we must uplift every neighborhood and every individual to unlock the city's true potential.

It's time for us to elect leaders with a proven track record of genuinely being there for the community and delivering tangible results for the people. Memphis has had its fill of candidates who only show up during election time for their own personal gain.

As you explore this website, you'll discover that I've had the honor of working alongside remarkable Memphians on incredible causes over the years. I'm humbled to have led the Downtown Neighborhood Association (DNA) to its largest membership ever, growing from 67 members to over 500+. I've stood shoulder to shoulder with the Uptown community, successfully organizing and fighting against a 7-story parking garage that would have disrupted their homes. Together with the DNA, I initiated the "Free Outdoor Spring Movie Series" to bring joy to our community. I've also been an advocate for funding the Mud Island Amphitheater and highlighting its significance to our city's leaders. In fact, I took part in making state history by spearheading and founding the state's first rainbow crosswalk in Cooper-Young, a symbolic gesture honoring and uplifting the LGBTQ+ community.

Other accomplishments include leading the street renaming and ceremony honoring James Alexander of the BarKays in Soulsville, partnering with Whitehaven leaders to bring a new Christmas tree to the community at Southland Mall, actively participating in over 50 neighborhood cleanups, and serving as a Commissioner for Memphis City Beautiful, where I helped launch one of the organization's largest city-wide cleanups through the Litter League Competition.

These are just a few highlights among many more endeavors. Electing me as your next councilman will enable me to continue working alongside all of you, bringing fresh ideas to Memphis and propelling our city to new heights.

Let us shift our focus from asking what Memphis can do for us, to what we can do for Memphis – together!
