About

Noah Nordstrom embodies a fervent commitment to justice, education, and the empowerment of his community. Born in Murphysboro, Illinois. Noah's formative years were deeply influenced by his upbringing as the son of a small-town pastor. A move to Knoxville, Tennessee during his teenage years ignited his passion for politics and social change.

His journey into activism commenced with an internship at the Knox County Democratic Party in 2015, an experience that set the stage for his future endeavors. Upon graduating high school, Noah seized the opportunity to work as a traveling field organizer for the Tennessee Democratic Party. Despite the challenges faced during the 2016 election cycle, Noah's resolve remained unyielding, propelling him further into the realms of community organizing.

Enrolling at East Tennessee State University in the spring of 2017, Noah immersed himself in the study of International Affairs and Applied Spanish, while simultaneously championing causes close to his heart. From organizing protests against healthcare cuts to advocating for immigrant rights, his activism knew no bounds.

A pivotal moment arrived when financial constraints forced Noah to pause his university studies. Undeterred, he embarked on a transformative journey to Mexico, where he taught English and delved into the complexities of language and culture. This period enriched his understanding of the immigrant experience and fueled his determination to effect positive change.

Noah's return to the United States heralded a resurgence of purpose. With the support of a Pell Grant, he resumed his studies, simultaneously serving as the campaign manager for a State Senate candidate. His leadership not only facilitated educational pursuits but also galvanized a new generation of political activists.

Upon graduating, Noah's path led him to Memphis, where he embraced a new role as a high school Spanish teacher. His tenure at Overton High School revealed stark realities of underfunded and neglected public education. Confronted with overcrowded classrooms, dilapidated facilities, and a scarcity of resources, Noah refused to accept the status quo.

Driven by a profound sense of duty to his students, Noah embarked on a quest for systemic change. His decision to run for State Representative in Tennessee House District 83 is a testament to his unwavering commitment to educational equity. Noah Nordstrom's vision extends beyond the classroom; it encompasses a future where every child has access to quality education, irrespective of zip code or circumstance.
