Before I ever stepped into a courtroom, I spent my days in the dirt. As an archaeologist, my job was to conduct surveys and excavations to understand the story behind the artifacts we found. Whether I was in the backwoods of Idaho or the coastal properties of the Bahamas, the goal was always the same: precision and discovery.

Today, as your Judge in Division 3, I find that the law isn't much different from archaeology. Every case is a site waiting to be explored. A judge’s primary responsibility is to "excavate" the truth from the layers of motions, testimony, and evidence presented by both sides.

In Circuit Court, we handle complex civil matters—everything from personal injury to business disputes. These cases are the "artifacts" of our community's conflicts. My role isn't to guess or to follow a political agenda; it is to strictly interpret the law as written. By being meticulously prepared before I ever take the bench, I ensure that the foundation of every ruling is built on the facts, not the noise.
