Bain Barbecue, the acclaimed Texas-style barbecue joint in Memphis' historic Cooper Young District, is hosting a can't-miss event on May 5th to benefit the local non-profit Merge Memphis. The "Salsa, Salsa, and Margaritas" event will feature salsa-making classes, salsa dancing lessons, and of course, plenty of margaritas and Tex-Mex fare.

Bain Barbecue has quickly become a Memphis favorite since opening in 2023, serving up mouthwatering brisket, ribs, and sausage that have been slow-smoked for 24 hours. The restaurant prides itself on using sustainably-sourced meats and homemade sides, elevating the classic Texas barbecue experience.

But Bain Barbecue is not just about great food - they are also committed to giving back to the community. That's why they've partnered with Merge Memphis, a local non-profit dedicated to providing safe emergency shelter, housing, and wraparound services for underserved women in the Mid-South.

Merge Memphis was founded in 2018 by Keith and Sherry McClure, two full-time nurses who felt called to help those less fortunate. The organization operates Clare's House and Cleveland House, which have helped dozens of women transition from homelessness to independent living. In 2023 alone, eight women graduated from the Clare's House program and 28 moved into permanent housing.

The "Salsa, Salsa, and Margaritas" event on May 5th will raise critical funds to support Merge Memphis' important work. Attendees will have the chance to learn how to make authentic salsa and salsa dance, all while enjoying margaritas, nachos, and tacos.
