Stuart is a lifelong Shelby County resident. He graduated from Germantown High School in 1983, going on to receive his Bachelor of Science from Memphis State University in 1988, followed by a Juris Doctorate and Masters of Business Administration in 1991.

Since Stuart was admitted to practice law in Tennessee in 1991, he has tried over 50 civil jury trials and over 300 civil bench trials in Circuit Court, Chancery Court, and Juvenile Court. In addition, has argued more than 50 cases before the Tennessee Court of Appeals.

Stuart has successfully mediated more than 500 civil cases and became listed Tennessee Alternative Dispute Resolution Mediator in 2013. Stuart has also spoken at more than 50 seminars on topics related to evidence, family law, contempt, and experts.

Today, Stuart remains a member of both the Tennessee Bar Associations. He is a member of the ADR Inns of Court and is the Past President of the Family Law Section of the Memphis Bar Association.
