Greetings,
We have crafted this digital portrait of our school to help you get a sense of the Lamplighter community and shared connections we have to our school as teachers, administrators, parents, guardians and students. Our community provides friendship, camaraderie, and guidance and abides by the Montessori principles of mutual respect, peace and acceptance.
Each of our educators are professionals and subject matter experts in their own area. They work collaboratively and are deeply committed to the progression of each child’s learning. Our staff members are just as vested as our teachers in cultivating a successful learning environment for our students. And our parents and guardians are more than stakeholders – they are a valued resource in helping us more fully understand their child’s thinking and learning.
As a former Montessori child myself, I knew when I became a parent that the ideal approach to learning and child development was the Montessori Method. For more than 20 years, I have had the honor of working with children and expanding Montessori options in the Memphis area through teaching, advocacy, and non-profit leadership. Discovering the Montessori approach to learning was one of the most defining experiences of my life. It has become my passion and fuels my life’s work.
